All of the seafood we offer is “wild” and caught in Alaska’s clean coastal waters.

Alaska’s fisheries are managed by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game to ensure sustainable, productive and healthy stocks. This management program is the envy of fisheries managers worldwide.

Many of Alaska’s fisheries have been granted official certification by the Marine Stewardship Council (MCS) as meeting rigorous standards to ensure the sustainability of the stocks and their environments.

Norton Sound Red King Crab

Norton Sound produces the sweetest tasting king crab meat available.

The Norton Sound red king crab fishery is the only small boat, summer king crab fishery in Alaska, taking place in July and August in the waters next to the Gold Rush town of Nome.

These “pot”-caught crabs are the smaller cousins of the Bristol Bay red king with a live weight of three to four pounds each. Cooked and frozen sections weigh between 12 and 18 ounces.

Bristol Bay Red King Crab

The Bristol Bay red king is Alaska’s signature crab. With a sweet flavor and rich texture it is the largest and most impressive of the world’s crabs.

They are caught in the Bering Sea with large steel traps weighing 700 lbs. The fishing season lasts from October through December.

The live weight of these crabs averages about six and a half pounds. Cooked and frozen sections weigh about two pounds.

Halibut

With its mild, delicate flavor and firm texture it is no wonder that halibut is considered the world’s premium whitefish. It is truly a versatile fish, suitable for many cooking styles.

Halibut is caught from February to November using a “longline” fishing method, where many hooks are attached to a long length of line anchored to the ocean bottom. This method produces high quality fish with little “bycatch” of unwanted species or damage to the seabed.

Boneless and skinless filets are packed in random weights.

Salmon

Alaska produces five species of salmon: King, Sockeye, Coho, Chum and Pink, which are considered high in healthy Omega-3 oils.

Salmon is caught by gillnets, seine, and trolling. The fishing season begins in May and lasts into October. Troll fishing for King salmon continues into the winter months

Filets are packed in random weights.
